After the success of previous editions, the prestigious event dedicated to Beach Sprint returns “home” with a major novelty: the circuit also becomes international, with a final prize fund.
The event, named in memory of Lido Filippi—the visionary builder of Olympic boats at the Filippi shipyard in Castagneto—represents a touring circuit of rounds promoted by the Italian Rowing Federation. The first three editions were national in scope, where Italian clubs battled for the Filippi Trophy. From the fourth edition onward, an international circuit will join the national circuit.
In 2025, athletes will compete in three qualification rounds: Mondello (Palermo) on March 28, Lazise (Bardolino) on May 2, and Taranto on May 24. The final round will effectively be a home event: hosted in Marina di Castagneto, where the Filippi shipyard is located. In this round, both the Filippi Trophy will be awarded to the winning club of the Italian national circuit, and a total prize fund of €20,000 will be given to the winners of the international circuit.
