Filippi Family 2025

Martin and Valent Sinkovic don't need an introduction. Their achievements speak for themselves:

Olympic Games: 3 gold, 1 silver
World Championships: 6 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze European Championships: 1 gold, 1 silver World
World Cup: 23 gold, 6 silver, 1 bronze

But behind these numbers are 25 years dedicated to competitive rowing (Martin started first in the autumn of 1999, and Valent followed in the spring of 2000). They began as young boys at the Mladost club in Zagreb, where they were born and raised.

The catalyst was their older brother Matija, who became passionate about rowing after watching it on TV and decided to give it a try. First, Matija started, then Martin, while Valent, who was playing football, was persuaded by their father, Darko to try rowing.

They have always been closely connected to Nikola Bralic, their coach, who has guided them through all their extraordinary achievements. Winning two consecutive Olympic Games, like they did in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, always with a Filippi boat, first in the pair (2-) and then in the double (2x), is something truly remarkable.

They are unique, as demonstrated by their incredible comeback in the Paris Olympic final, coming from behind. In some way, they perfectly embody the Filippi philosophy. Tireless workers, ambitious in their actions, never arrogant, and close to the rowing community that adores them for this. And most importantly, never satisfied: in fact they have already announced their intention to take on the challenge of another Olympic cycle, possibly in the Four.
