USRowing is pleased to announce a partnership extension with Filippi Lido as the Official Boat Supplier for the U.S. National Team and the Para-Rowing National Team through 2029. The provision of best-in-class shells for talented athletes, both in their prime and in development, further positions Team USA for success in international competitions.
Filippi will continue to supply a domestic fleet for the training and racing of the Senior and Para National Teams, as well as the boats for major international regattas. These include the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the World Rowing Championships, and World Cup regattas.
“We are excited to continue our successful partnership with Filippi as the official boat supplier for our national team," said USRowing’s Chief High Performance Officer Josy Verdonkschot. "Filippi has shown a great commitment to providing our athletes with the best shells and support imaginable. Their innovative approach and constant search for improvement set us up for success on the road to LA28."
Team USA rowed Filippi boats to secure two Olympic medals – a gold in the men’s four and a bronze in the men’s eight – along with a Paralympic silver in the PR3 mixed four with coxswain. In addition, nine Olympic and Paralympic crews qualified for A Finals, marking the best showing since the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

"We are very proud," says David Filippi, the CEO of Filippiboats, "to have renewed the agreement with the American Federation until December 2029. The fact that a prestigious Federation like USRowing has decided to continue the cooperation for another Olympic cycle – which in four years will take place right in the United States in Los Angeles – means complete appreciation for the work we have done together over the past four years. These years, by the way, led to an Olympic gold medal last summer in Paris with the men’s 4- (which hadn't happened since Rome 1960), a bronze Olympic medal with the men’s eight, and recognition for our ongoing research and innovation activities. In this regard, a heartfelt thank you to the reconfirmed head coach Josy Verdonkschot, who has played an active role in achieving these results."

Filippi Lido, Srl, located in Donoratico, Italy, was founded in 1980 by Lido Filippi and is now run by his son, David. The company employs more than 90 people and produces approximately 1,000 racing shells a year. The iconic Olympic-level blue and white boats represent the work of the best master carpenters, the results of extensive technological research, and the fusion of tradition and innovation.
The continuous and tireless pursuit of perfection distinguishes a Filippi boat from others. With over 70 models of hulls, each designed for a specific category and range of athlete weights, every boat is custom-designed and modeled on the athletes who will use it, ensuring they can express their maximum potential at all times. The constant presence of approximately 60-65% of Filippi boats at every World/European Championship and World Cup is a testament to 45 years of dedicated teamwork.
