June 13-15, 2025, Varese (ITA)
The first stage of the 2025 World Rowing Cup, held from 13 to 15 June in Varese, once again highlighted the dominance of Filippi boats on the international scene.
With 70.9% of boats in the opening heats and a strong presence in every race, Filippi crews secured 70% of all medals awarded—15 gold, 15 silver, and 14 bronze, out of a total of 22 golds, 22 silvers, and 19 bronzes available. A particularly significant result came from the Olympic-class events, where our boats captured 9 out of 12 gold medals.
The competition welcomed medals won by 15 different nations on Filippi boats—GBR, NED, ITA, AUS, USA, NZL, CZE, CHN, BRA, FRA, IRL, UZB, JPN, TUR, and MEX—showcasing the global trust in our brand.
44 medals over 63
15 GOLDS
15 SILVERS
14 BRONZES
Among the many highlights, standout performances came from Lauren Henry and Simon van Dorp, who claimed commanding victories in the women’s and men’s single sculls. In para rowing, Brazil secured two golds, while France and Ireland added to the Filippi medal tally. We also proudly placed first and third in the Mixed Eight test event thanks to the USA and Italy.
This weekend in Varese confirmed once more the reliability and competitive edge of Filippi’s craftsmanship. Now, all eyes turn to World Rowing Cup II in Lucerne, from 27 to 29 June, where we look forward to supporting our crews once again at the highest level.
And let’s not forget our Filippi Family athletes: Martin and Valent Sinkovic took home silver in the men’s pair, while Benthe Boonstra claimed silver in the women’s double sculls—proud moments for athletes and boatbuilder alike.
