September 21-28, Shanghai (CHN)
From September 21–28, 2025, the waters of Dianshan Lake in Shanghai (China) hosted the World Rowing Championships, the pinnacle of the international rowing calendar.
With over 170 crews choosing to compete in Filippi boats, our presence on the course was remarkable. In the end, athletes racing with Filippi secured 38 medals, accounting for 55% of the total awarded.
The overall tally:
55%
38 medals over 69
15 GOLDS
12 SILVERS
11 BRONZES
Some highlights from this year’s regatta include:
- the historic win of the Dutch women’s eight, who defeated the reigning Olympic champions from Romania;
- the U.S. women’s four, returning to world championship gold after seven years;
- strong performances from China, Italy, and the Netherlands across several events;
- emotional races in the single sculls, including British athlete Lauren Henry, closing her breakthrough season with a world medal;
- and the confirmation of the Performance line, chosen by all gold medal-winning crews in Olympic disciplines.
These results reflect not only the competitiveness of our athletes but also underline areas where we aim to improve and support future performances.
The event also carried a moment of reflection, as the rowing community paid tribute to Daniele Pavan, an Italian rower who tragically passed away during the Coastal Rowing Championship in Trieste.
